Happy Friday, loves! Today’s Floral Friday is capturing a Fall look with all kinds of flirty, romantic florals! I’ve been feeling super inspired lately to use pumpkins and try something a little different than the normal arrangements. I picked up all of the flowers for today’s post, including the pumpkin at Trader Joe’s. I know, you’re probably tired of hearing about TJ’s or Central Market. I actually hit up the floral market on 7th last weekend and saw 2 dozen roses for $85 – ummmmmmm, yeah no. The whole objective here is to keep it affordable and accessible for anyone who wants to snag similar flowers and recreate the look. Ain’t nobody got time for $85 roses that’ll die in a week!
All flowers & the pumpkin for less than $20 bucks! Score! When shopping for the pumpkin I was looking for something a little deep (to hold my 6″ deep vase), but still have a flatter pancake kind of look to it.
I started out by simply cutting about an 8″ hole in the top of the pumpkin. It doesn’t have to be pretty or exact since the flowers will drape over the top and hide any imperfections. Once the top is removed I pulled out the inside goo and seeds. After the inside is removed I placed the vase inside the pumpkin and filled with water. If I had to do again I would definitely recommend getting a floral sponge to hold the eucalyptus in place. They are so heavy they want to fall out; however, I didn’t use any extra ‘tools’ for this look though other than a small vase.
For this floral look I used eucalyptus ($2.99) around the bottom, alstroemeria ($3.99) as filler, and roses ($4.99) to top it off because I’m obssssssssessed with white roses :)
Here’s a close-up, ladies. All total I paid $12 for all flowers and $7 for the pumpkin, so still less than $20, and this thing is a behemoth! Definitely a statement floral arrangement that’s best fit on a larger table or kitchen island. This would be perfect if you’re hosting a party or get together and want to have a larger arrangement on the table, but not kill your wallet.
